Weather Wins First Day at US Open
The US Open was haltered yesterday after just half of the 156-golfer field had started their rounds. Heavy rain fell on the Bethpage Black golf course in New York, with huge puddles appearing on greens quicker than the greenkeepers could squeegee it off.
With more rain forecast for the coming days, it looks as though the golf tournament’s regulation play may not be concluded until Monday, which would be the 1st time that happened since 1983. Additionally, the golf tournament may go into Tuesday, if a playoff is needed, as it was in last years US Open.
