Phil Mickelson returns to golf today at the St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind golf course, following his wife’s diagnosis with cancer 3 weeks ago. With surgery pushed back until the 1st week of July, Phil and Amy decided to do what they normally do: play golf tournaments and take their 3 children to camps and activities, and then a tropical holiday in the time before surgery.

Mickelson has had a 2 golf tournament absence since the diagnosis, but prior to that, he had been performing well on the golf course, achieving 5 top 10 finishes in his previous 7 golf tournaments, and will be hoping the golf can take his mind off the terrible situation faced by his family.
